Madison House Volunteers Featured as 'Volunteer Of The Week' Twice In A Row

University of Virginia’s Learning in Action, an initiative designed to connect students, faculty, and community partners to social entrepreneurship, community engagement, and co–curricular service opportunities, features a volunteer as their ‘Volunteer of the Week’ on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Madison House has been at the forefront of service at the University of Virginia, and this is reflected in Madison House’s consistent appearance within the Volunteer of the Week’s highlights. Twice in a row, Madison House volunteers have been featured by Learning in Action.

Jonathan Kim, a fourth-year in the College of Arts & Sciences, is double-majoring in economics and statistics. Jonathan is the head program director for Creating Assets, Savings and Hope (CASH), a Madison House program that helps file taxes for low-income Charlottesville families. Since his time with the program, he has assisted with giving back over $4 million to the Charlottesville community.

Joyce Cheng, a fourth-year in the College of Arts & Sciences majoring in Human Biology, has been volunteering with the Madison House program Adopt-a-Grandparent (AAGP) since her first semester of college, and she became a program director her second year.

Madison House congratulates these volunteers for their hard work and dedication to giving back to their community!
