HOW WOULD YOU ENCOURAGE OTHERS TO GET INVOLVED?

JULIA: Find something you care about and seek out ways to support that cause! When I first came to UVA, I tried out a lot of different volunteer activities until I found things I was really passionate about. Madison House is a great way to introduce yourself to different opportunities. I suggest checking out my service organization, Alpha Phi Omega (APO), because it has provided me with so many different ways to help the community, whether it be repairing bikes, playing bingo with elderly communities, trail and farm maintenance, or helping with grassroots organizations (among so many other things). Whatever you choose to do, make sure that you are constantly evaluating if your service is meaningful and focused on improving the lives of others, as opposed to just making you feel good about yourself.

HEATH: Find the thing that you’re passionate about and run with it, the trick is to give back in a way that also fills your cup!
