Gifts of personal property benefit the experience of Madison House volunteers, as well as the experience of community organizations and local residents served by Madison House volunteers.

At this time, the only gifts in kind that Madison House is able to accept are sports tickets and donations to our Holiday Sharing program. If your gift(s) in kind has an apparent value of more than $5,000, it must be appraised by an outside expert.

Reasons to donate a gift in kind to Madison House include:

1. You may receive a charitable deduction for the appraised value at the time of the gift.

2. You can make a larger donation to Madison House than if you sold the gift, paid capital gains tax on the sale, and contributed cash.

3. The gift's value is removed from your estate, which lowers your estate taxes.
